Police investigate Kick Streamer's paintball incident that sent one to emergency

The Austin Police Department has launched an inquiry regarding a paintball incident that injured a woman allegedly involving Kick streamer XenaTheWitch. The injury occurred on Saturday, August 9, 2025, along Lakeshore Boulevard during an in-person scavenger hunt organized by a controversial internet personality Paul "Ice Poseidon" Denino.
KVUE, a local station, had it that several livestreamers were drawn to the event where they would race across North America and complete challenges for a huge prize of $30,000. Some participants, however, seemed to have taken out their paintball guns and started firing in public areas without considering the safety of others.
Incident Captured on Stream
A snippet shown on the fellow streamer BennyMack's broadcast recorded XenaTheWitch firing her paintball gun, hitting the woman on the left thigh.
The victim, unprotected from paintball hits, was not a competitor.
'Yeah, she f***ing shot me, It was one of them girls,' the woman mentioned. 'I don't give a f***,' Xena responded.
Public Backlash and Accountability Calls
Clips of the incident have been circulating on platforms like Reddit and X, with an audience clamoring for justice. Redditor said, "I hope they turn Xenathewitch in for this," ironically picking up on the trending topic among the online population, insinuating that streamers should pay for their reckless behavior in public broadcasts.

Lack of protective gear from the victim has become another major topic, given that paintball guns can bruise and injure significantly in the absence of safety equipment.
A Pattern of Controversy
Unfortunately, XenaTheWitch is no stranger to problematic behavior, and yet again, she was in the headlines at the beginning of the year, involving herself in a showdown with an Uber driver. During that incident, her cameraman allegedly dropped the driver's phone onto the tarmac.
This paintball incident revives discussions around discrepancies regarding the safety of unsupervised IRL streaming events. While such challenges tend to attract colossal audiences and sky-high sponsorships, they tend to straddle a fine line between entertainment and endangerment.
No arrests have been made at least so far. The investigation is running under the assault with injury division, wherein the authorities are going through footage from several livestreams.
